Erosion
Control Geotextile
in Erosion Control Woven
geotextiles are used as integral components in the design and construction of
a variety of Coastal structures such as revetments, breakwaters, Sea walls, Anti
Sea Erosion bunds and other containment structures. The materials used are easy
to install beneath the water surface, and can provide long-term performance.
REVETMENTS A
Woven Geotextile acts as a filter underneath revetments to prevent the erosion
of soil. The protection on top of the can be a wide range of materials such as
rock, gabions and mattresses, concrete blocks, boulders etc. Applications range
from riverbank protection to coastal protection works. BREAKWATERS Our
product can also be used as a filter at the base of rubble-mound breakwaters.
In this location, the Woven geotextile prevents the erosion of the base soil through
the granular layers in the breakwater. In some cases, the Geotextile may also
be required to reinforce the base of the breakwater when it is constructed on
soft soils. SHORE
PROTECTION High
Strength Woven geotextiles are used in construction of Containers such as tubes,
bags, etc which serve as shore protection structures. These measures prove effective
in dissipating wave energy. These products are highly flexible and very economical
since they utilize locally dredged materials. |
Silt
Fence
| | | |
Is
a geotextile specifically designed to offer a combination of UV resistance, strength,
and hydraulic properties for use in sediment control applications. Silt Fence
is a woven polypropylene geotextile containing a combination of monofilament and
fibrillated yarns designed to filter out sediment while reatining a high flow
rate without clogging. Typically the product is fastened to wooden or metal posts.
The preferred method is to use a specially designed ditch digger which installs
the product and compacts the ground in one operation. Contact us for further information
regarding this type of machinery. When
properly installed, silt fence geotextiles assist to control sediment laden runoff
from disturbed areas. These fabrics help contain overland flow and filter suspended
soil particles from water, preventing environmental damage to areas adjacent to
construction sites. As sediment accumulates, silt fence geotextiles high
tensile strength and low maintenance features allow continued excellent performance
until vegetation is complete. Silt
fences help protect streams, rivers, lakes, and reservoirs from contaminaton by
sediment. Runoff from stormwater and other non-point sources is one
of the largest remaining unaddressed sources of water pollution. |
Gabions Soil
erosion is a common problem and Gabions have proved to be a lasting solution around
the world. TechFab
Gabions are box type structures made from polymer ropes similar to the conventional
metal/ wire crate type of Gabions. Gabions made from polymer ropes have certain
advantages especially in marine environment where they would be in constant contact
with water. Polymer Rope Gabions will not rust or corrode. The
lasting appeal of Polymer Rope Gabions lies in their inherent flexibility. These
Gabion structures yield to earth movement but maintain full efficiency and remain
structurally sound due to their ability to adjust to the bed contour. They are
unlike rigid or semi-rigid structures, which may undergo failure even when slight
changes occur in their foundations. Gabions
are used for several applications such as:
Anti Sea erosion
bunds, Revetments, Sea Walls, Riprap, etc. We've
challenged conventional Gabion design to create a strong, flexible, dimensionally
stable product, which assembles quickly and easily.
