The present paper discusses about the importance of using geotextile in Railways. Geotextile are used for stabilisation and load bearing capacity improvement of subgrade below the railway tracks us of geotextile may increase cost of railway tracks, however teh maintenance cost reduceby giving the railway tracks long life time.
