Tamil Nadu, India | Bharatmala Pariyojana (under Taken by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways)
The project is a small part of Bharatmala Pariyojana (Under taken by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways). Bharatmala Pariyojana aims to optimize the efficiency of freight and passenger movement across the country by bridging critical infrastructure gaps through effective interventions such as developing Economic Corridors, Inter Corridors and Feeder Routes, improving National Corridor Efficiency, constructing Border and International connectivity roads, Coastal and Port connectivity roads and Green-field expressways. The project covers a total of 34,800 km of roads and will be completed in phases.
In this project, we are Constructing the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) ((West side) – NH948A – from Balagondapalli (Tamil Nadu) to Karnataka /Tamil Nadu border, spanning from km 144.170 to km 179.936 in the state of Tamil Nadu, utilizing flexible pavement.
Client wanted to construct durable roads that absorb maximum loads with low maintenance costs. To achieve this objective, the soil beneath road needs to be fortified. This was achieved through flexible pavement solution.
TechFab (India) Industries Ltd proposed usage of TechPave as an interlayer system, also known as Paving Fabric. Paving fabric acts as a Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayer (SAMI – as per IRC SP 59:2019) in constructing the flexible pavement. As per IRC SP 59:2019, this fabric acts as a stress absorbing membrane interlayer enhancing the durability of flexible pavements.
Project was completed with the TechPave material leading to durable flexible pavement systems, taking heavy loads of traffic.
