TechGlass AIC is a composite comprising high-modulus, low-strain glass fiber strands stitched to a polyester/polypropylene nonwoven geotextile. The reinforcing effect of the glass fiber strands, combined with the waterproofing, stress-relieving, and bonding properties of the nonwoven, significantly reduces reflective cracking beneath asphalt overlays.
The composite can withstand the high temperatures encountered during the placement of asphalt concrete and modified asphalt concrete mixtures. It forms a stable, durable, and non-deformable waterproof layer within the pavement structure, effectively preventing water ingress and protecting both the pavement surface and underlying layers from moisture-related damage.
